MP3's can be as good and sometimes better than CD's, it just depends on how you download them, and sometimes it depends on the quality of the earphones (earbuds for iPod users) you have.

Jfnardi3 -- most likely you're hearing mp3's recorded at 128 kbps (which isn't very good). At 320 kbps, the sound is almost identical to CD's, although the file size is much larger (making it less desirable to download). Just an FYI...

I cannot understand how anyone without serious hearing loss can't tell the diference between MP'3"s and CD's. I am 58 years old, and I can't stand the monotonous soulds that Mp3 calls music. Cd's (especially bought online) are a bargain and a keepsake of your favorite music. This "new" generation is losing out on some great sounds. Enjoy!!!
